On August 11, 2022 the 112th meeting of Ghashful Executive Committee was held at the head office of the organization, presided by Ghashful Executive Committee Chairman and Chittagong University Senate member sociologist Dr. Manzur-Ul-Amin Chowdhury. At the beginning of the meeting, a condolence proposal was accepted on the occasion of the martyrdom anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the greatest Bengali of all times, and in remembrance of Ghashful founder Shamsunnahar Rahman Paran, the main patron of the organization late M. L. Rahman, and all those colleagues and well-wishers who have passed away in the last fifty years of Ghashful’s journey. The members of the Executive Committee present reviewed the progress, challenges and plans of implementing various service activities of the organization in the post-Covid situation. The speakers in the meeting felt that the on-going development activities of the organization should be coordinated with the existing social conditions of the country in order to have sustainable long-term impact. It was decided to increase the scope of all services including health, education, agriculture, economic development of backward communities, child protection, women development, environment and disaster management. Ghashful Executive Committee Vice President Shiv Narayan Kairy, General Secretary Shamiha Salim, Joint General Secretary Kabita Barua, Executive Member Prof. Dr. Zainab Begum, Parveen Mahmud FCA were connected online in the meeting. Ghashful CEO Aftabur Rahman Jafree, Director (Operation) Mohammad Faridur Rahman, Deputy Director Mafizur Rahman, Maruful Karim Chowdhury, Jayanta Kumer Bosu, Assistant Director Sadia Rahman, Assistant Director (SDP) K.M.G. Rabbani Basunia, Head of Audit and Monitoring Department Tutul Kumar Das and Regional Manager Mohammad Nashir Uddin were also present in the meeting.

In the meeting, information about the organization’s dealings with PKSF and various financial institutions and Paran Rahman’s memorial book “মানববিক জীবনবোধে উজ্জীবিত একজন উন্নয়ন সংগঠক”, Children Working in the Hazardous Road Transport Sector in Chattogram City, Bangladesh – A Sociological Profile and the unveiling of research on the subject (Departmental Commissioner), by Mr. Chittagong), nomination of Executive Committee member Parveen Mahmud FCA as Chairman of Ghashful Employees Gratuity Fund Trustee Board, review of various activities of the organization and important issues of the organization were discussed. Paran Rahman’s eldest daughter Parveen Mahmud FCA handed over a check to Ghashful Chairman Dr. Manzur-ul-Amin Chowdhury for Paran Rahman Fund. Besides, on the same day, the 17th meeting of the audit committee of the organization was held online from the head office of the organization, presided by Ms. Parveen Mahmud FCA, convener of Ghashful Finance and Audit Committee.
