A five-day life skills training was successfully conducted from 6 to 10 May at the BRDB Palli Bhaban in Anwara Upazila under the RAISE (Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment) Project, implemented by Ghashful with support from the World Bank and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF).
The training aimed to strengthen the employability of young apprentices and youth engaged in the informal sector by enhancing their confidence, communication skills, and workplace readiness. The sessions were highly interactive, featuring lively discussions, participatory exercises, and practical learning approaches.
The program was formally inaugurated on 6 May by Project Coordinator Kazi Md. Sirajus Salekeen. Remarks were also delivered by Anwara Branch Manager Abdullah Al Mamun. Speakers highlighted the critical importance of life skills training in developing a skilled, confident, and job-ready workforce in today’s economic context. The session was facilitated by Case Management Officer Sanjay Chowdhury.
The closing ceremony on 10 May was attended by Upazila Rural Development Officer Mitali Sen as the Chief Guest. She appreciated the joint initiative of Ghashful and PKSF, noting that such training models serve as effective examples for sustainable development and human capital development, while contributing to inclusive economic empowerment at the grassroots level.
Participants shared that the training covered essential topics such as personal development, communication strategies, workplace behavior, problem-solving skills, and career readiness in a practical and engaging manner—boosting their confidence for future employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
