A day-long free eye camp was organized on 5 May in Patnitala Upazila by Ghashful’s Patnitala Branch, providing essential eye care services to underserved communities.
A total of 56 patients received free treatment during the camp, among whom 16 were diagnosed with cataracts. Arrangements have been made to provide them with free cataract surgeries.
The eye camp was conducted under a cataract surgery initiative through a partnership between Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) and Orbis International, and was implemented by Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute & Hospital.
According to the hospital’s medical team, eligible patients will be selected through initial screening and gradually brought under the cataract surgery program to help restore their vision.
The event was attended by Area Manager Jewel Rana, Branch Manager Milon Mondol, along with other relevant officials.
Local community members noted that such humanitarian initiatives provide significant support to rural underserved populations.
