A total of 64 participants have been selected for four months of skills training across five trades under the RAISE (Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment) Project, implemented by Ghashful with support from PKSF and the World Bank.
The final interview and verification process was held on 4 October at Ghashful’s Madarbari-3 Branch Office in Chattogram. Of the 68 applicants who participated, 64 were selected for the upcoming training.
Dr. Md. Faizul Tarek Chowdhury, Senior Program Manager of PKSF, attended as Chief Guest and interacted directly with the candidates. He emphasized that training is not merely about earning a certificate—the ultimate goal is to turn acquired skills into employment, self-employment, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
Ghashful Deputy Director (Microfinance) and RAISE Focal Person Jayanta Kumer Bosu also guided the participants on how they can use their newly acquired skills to become successful entrepreneurs, generate employment, and achieve greater financial independence.
The program was facilitated by RAISE Field Coordinator Kazi Md. Sirajus Salekeen, with support from the project’s Training and Employment Support Officer Al-Imran, Accounts and MIS Officer Md. Gias Uddin Parvez, Microfinance Area Managers Md. Osman and Md. Saiful Islam, and concerned Branch Managers.
For these 64 participants, the selection marks more than the beginning of a training program—it is a step toward building skills, confidence, and a pathway to sustainable employment.
