Right after the Liberation war, Paran Rahman played a significant role in rebuilding the war-torn country and establishing the private development organization Ghashful. The lifestyle of her will always remain an ideal example for us to follow. At the virtual memorial meeting, chaired by the Chairman of Ghashful Dr. Monzur-Ul-Amin Chowdhury, held on the occasion of Paran Rahman’s 6th death anniversary on 18th February 2021, the speakers called upon the next generation to present the ideologies of the philanthropist Paran Rahman. At the event the poem named “Porichoy” by Rabindranath Tagor was recited by Mona Haque, and a prayer session was directed by Shikha Zaman for the forgiveness of the deceased soul of the deceased. The entire program was coordinated by Ghashful General Body member Zareen Mahmud Hosein.

On this day, a Milad and Doa Mahfil were held in the memory of Paran Rahman at Ghashful Head Office at morning. The Mahfil started with recitation from the Holy Quran at 8:00 a.m. and ended through Milad and Munajat at 9:00 a.m. Director (Operation) of Ghashful Md. Faridur Rahman, Deputy Director (Admin & Human Resource) Mafizur Rahman, and all the officers and employees of the head office took part in the Mahfil.
On the same day at 10:30 p.m. a special memorial Talk-show program named “Sharan” was telecast on Bangladesh Television Chattogram Center, in remembrance of the Founder of Ghashful and the legendary development enthusiast Shamsunnahar Rahman Paran. The talk-show program was hosted by the Chairman of Ghashful Dr. Monzur-Ul-Amin Chowdhury. Vice Chancellor of Chittagong University Prof. Dr. Shirin Akhter was present as the honourable guest speaker. Shila Momen, a cultural personality, and CEO of Ghasful Aftabur Rahman Jafree were also present at the event.
