Ghashful and World Vision Bangladesh jointly organised a day-long drug awareness programme at Ghashful Paran Rahman School in West Madarbari, Chattogram, under the slogan “Say No to Drugs, Build a Healthy and Happy Life.”
The programme began at 11:00 a.m. on 31 August 2026, with Ghashful Deputy Director Sadia Rahman attending as chief guest. She stressed that drug abuse harms individuals, families and society, calling on families, educational institutions and social organisations to work together to protect young people and build a drug-free future through greater awareness.
World Vision Bangladesh Programme Officer Dolon Rozario and Usha Nari Unnayan Sangstha Programme Manager Pijush Dasgupta attended as special guests. Ghashful Programme Coordinator Sirajul Islam delivered the welcome remarks.
Chaired by Headteacher Mahmuda Akter, the programme also featured remarks from teacher Jannatul Ferdous and Grade 8 student Afrin Jahan Disha, representing the students. Senior teacher Nazma Akter moderated the event.
Members of local youth organisations, parents and a large number of young students participated in awareness discussions, creative cultural performances and an anti-drug pledge. Speakers highlighted the harmful effects of drugs and encouraged young people to engage in sports and creative activities that contribute to community development.
The programme concluded with World Vision Bangladesh presenting special health protection gifts to 100 students and parents.
