A Local Level Planning Workshop was held on 22 July 2026 in Naogaon under the Comprehensive Cataract Services Program, with support from Orbis International and Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), and organized by Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital–Naogaon.
Held at Dana Park, the workshop brought together 26 development organizations to review the progress of their free cataract surgery initiatives and finalize action plans for the next four months. Participants emphasized the need to organize camps more quickly and efficiently in order to ensure free cataract surgeries for a greater number of people.
The workshop was chaired by Gazi Nazrul Islam Faisal, Director of Ispahani Islamia Eye Institute and Hospital.
In his closing remarks, Ghashful Deputy Director Jayanta Kumer Bosu said, “As development practitioners, it is our responsibility to work together for people’s well-being. Through collective efforts, we can reach more people with essential eye care services.” He also noted that Ghashful has long been working with commitment to provide eye care and free cataract surgery for underserved communities in remote areas of Naogaon.
Representing Ghashful at the workshop were Deputy Director Jayanta Kumer Bosu and Acting Zonal Manager Md. Anwar Hossain.
Participants expressed hope that such coordinated initiatives among partner organizations will further strengthen efforts to protect vision and reduce preventable blindness in the future.
