World Population Day 2025: Ghashful Honored for Contributions in Family Planning

On the occasion of World Population Day 2025, Ghashful was awarded a special recognition crest by the Divisional Directorate of Family Planning, Chattogram, for its notable contributions in the field of family planning and maternal and child health services.

The divisional-level event was held in Chattogram on 14 July, with Sharmin Jahan, Additional Divisional Commissioner (Development), present as the Chief Guest. The program was also attended by Dr. Aung Swi Pru Marma, Director of Health for Chattogram Division; Abu Saleh Md. Forkan Uddin, Director of the Divisional Family Planning Office; and Begum Sahan Waz, Deputy Director of the District Family Planning Office, along with other relevant officials.

The crest was received on behalf of Ghashful by Selina Akhter, In-charge of the Community Health Program. She dedicated the honor to the collective efforts of Ghashful’s field-level health workers and community members.

This year’s World Population Day was observed under the theme: “To Build a Fair and Promising World, Empower Youth to Choose Their Families.” In alignment with this theme, speakers at the event emphasized the importance of youth awareness and engagement in family planning initiatives, and encouraged greater youth participation in shaping informed and empowered family decisions.
