On 7 April 2025, the Civil Surgeon’s Office in Chattogram organized a colorful rally and discussion session to commemorate World Health Day under the theme “জন্ম হোক সুরক্ষিত, ভবিষ্যৎ হোক আলোকিত- Safe Birth, Bright Future.” The event was presided over by Dr. Jahangir Alam, Civil Surgeon of Chattogram, and the chief guest was Dr. Angsui Pru Marma, Divisional Director (Health), Chattogram Division.
Representing Ghashful’s Community Health program, Ms. Selina Akkter joined fellow health professionals and community members in advocating for maternal and child healthcare, the prevention of child marriage, and the critical importance of maternal and neonatal immunizations. Through speeches and placard-bearing processions, participants highlighted the need to ensure every mother delivers safely and every newborn receives the protection necessary for a healthy start in life.
The rally concluded with a call to action for stronger collaboration between government bodies, NGOs, and local communities to uphold the promise of a safe birth and a brighter future for all families in the region.
