On the occasion of “July Renaissance and Youth Festival 2025”, Ghashful organized a two-day program of tree plantation and sapling distribution, held on 6 and 7 August 2025. The initiative aimed not only at raising awareness about environmental protection but also at actively engaging the younger generation in practical greening efforts.
On the first day, 6 August, saplings of fruit, timber, and medicinal trees were planted and distributed in three separate events: on Ghashful’s own land in Wazedia Ananya Residential Area in Chattogram; in Bhavicha Union of Niamatpur, Naogaon; and in Chhipatli Union of Hathazari, Chattogram under the Ghashful ENRICH program, supported by PKSF.
On the following day, 7 August, fifty additional saplings were planted around the premises of the Chattogram District Family Planning Office. The event was attended by Dr. Shamima Hasnat, Regional Consultant and Assistant Director (CC), Chattogram District Family Planning Office, along with other officials.
Representatives from Ghashful who participated in these programs included Syed Mamunur Rashid, Manager (Administration); Sirajul Islam, Program Coordinator; Mehamd Arif; Md. Kohinur Islam; SS Rajeeb Dey; Suman Dey; and Md. Alamgir Hossain, among other responsible staff members.
Since 1996, Ghashful has been actively implementing social forestry initiatives to promote environmental conservation in partnership with local governments, educational institutions, and community organizations. In the current monsoon season alone, Ghashful has already distributed and planted 13,000 saplings across different parts of the country.
This environmentally friendly initiative of Ghashful is playing a significant role in combating climate change, conserving biodiversity, and building a greener Bangladesh for future generations.
