Parveen Mahmud FCA, esteemed Executive Member of Ghashful, has been awarded the Lifetime Women Leadership Award 2025 by the South Asian Federation of Accountants (SAFA). She received this prestigious recognition on 16 September 2025 at the SAFA Women Leadership Award Ceremony held in the City of Dreams, Sri Lanka.
From the very beginning of her career, Parveen Mahmud has set an inspiring example of women’s leadership, social innovation, and inclusive growth. She began her career with BRAC and went on to serve as Deputy Managing Director of PKSF, Founding Managing Director of Grameen Telecom Trust, and as a Partner of ACNABIN Chartered Accountants. She is also recognized as a Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow of Lions International.
Her leadership reached new heights as the first female President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Bangladesh (ICAB) and the first female Board Member of SAFA. Currently, she serves as the Chairperson of Manusher Jonno Foundation (MJF), MIDAS, HerStory Foundation, and Shasha Denims PLC. She has also previously held the position of Chairperson at UCEP Bangladesh and the Acid Survivors Foundation.
Over the years, she has been recognized nationally and internationally with numerous honors, among which the Top 50 Professional & Career Women Award 2023 stands out. The SAFA Women Leadership Award 2025 was part of the International Management Accounting Conference 2025, organized on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee of the Institute of Cost Management Accountants of Sri Lanka.
