The SMART Fruits Project implemented by Ghashful is unlocking new opportunities for farmers and small entrepreneurs in Naogaon district. With support from the World Bank and the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF), the project has been under implementation since 1 October 2024 across Niamatpur, Porsha, Sapahar, and Patnitala upazilas.

The project aims to promote sustainable agricultural practices, environment-friendly cultivation, and the use of climate-resilient technologies, while strengthening value addition, processing, and marketing of high-value fruits. A key focus of the initiative is enhancing the technical and entrepreneurial capacities of micro-entrepreneurs involved in the agricultural value chain.

Through its flagship component titled “Promotion of Value Added Fruits Products for Sustainable Growth and Instituting RECP Practices,” the project is working to establish a circular economic model in the agriculture sector. By integrating Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) practices, the initiative is contributing to increased productivity, reduced environmental impact, and improved livelihoods for farmers and entrepreneurs.

This innovative initiative by Ghashful is helping transform Naogaon’s agricultural sector into a more advanced, climate-resilient, and sustainable system. The SMART Fruits Project is expected to set a strong example in agricultural and entrepreneurial development in the region.
