The 19-day Independence Book Fair 2026, organized by Chattogram City Corporation, has officially begun at the Gymnasium premises adjacent to MA Aziz Stadium.
On the opening day, the Honorable Mayor of Chattogram City Corporation, Dr. Shahadat Hossain, visited the Ghashful stall (Stall No. 49). During his visit, he emphasized, “There is no alternative to reading books in building a moral, knowledge-based and humane society.”
The Ghashful stall also welcomed visits from distinguished NGO leaders from Chattogram. Renowned publisher and literary figure, poet Shamsuddin Shishir, visited the stall and exchanged warm greetings.
Dr. Monjur-ul-Amin Chowdhury, eminent sociologist, Chairman of Ghashful, and Senate Member of University of Chittagong, received the guests and presented copies of a book edited by him.
Ghashful’s participation in the fair reflects its continued commitment to promoting knowledge, culture, and inclusive social development.
