On 28 June, at Ghashful’s Madarbari Branch-1 office in Chattogram, a claim of BDT 2,200,320 was settled in favor of the family of deceased member Sakhawat Hossain Sagor under Ghashful’s Loan Risk Fund. Of this amount, BDT 2 million was covered through the insurance/risk fund, while the remaining amount was provided as rebate. In addition, his nominated heir and wife, Jannatul Ferdous Pia, received BDT 234,599 by cheque, including the profit on his accumulated savings.
Sakhawat Hossain Sagor had received a loan of BDT 2 million from Ghashful on 10 May 2026 and passed away on 9 June 2026. In accordance with the organization’s Loan Risk Fund policy, his outstanding liability was settled and the due financial benefits were handed over to his nominated successor.
At the same event, Ghashful also disbursed a new loan of BDT 3 million to member Lipi Akter under its microenterprise policy to support the development of a new entrepreneur.
The insurance claim settlement, savings payment, and new loan disbursement were formally handed over by Ghashful CEO Aftabur Rahman Jafree in the presence of Assistant Director Md. Nasir Uddin and concerned branch officials.
