On 2 December 2025, a vibrant rally and discussion meeting were held at the Chattogram House premises to celebrate the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women 2025. The event was organized by the District Administration and the Department of Women Affairs, Chattogram. A representative team from Ghashful also took part in the programme.
The meeting was presided over by the Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Zahidul Islam Mia, while Atia Chowdhury, Deputy Director of the Department of Women Affairs Chattogram, served as Co-Chair. With the theme “Unite to End Violence against Women and Girls, Ensure Digital Safety,” the discussion brought together government officials, NGO representatives, women leaders and people from different walks of life.
Speakers highlighted the importance of strengthening and expanding existing services at the community level to prevent and respond to violence against women and children through various government and non government projects and programmes. They also urged parents and guardians to remain vigilant in preventing such violence.
It is noteworthy that the sixteen day observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women will run from 25 November to 10 December 2025.
