With the theme “With wings of dreams, we break the chains of child labour—marching forward with courage, fueling hope in our hearts (স্বপ্নের ডানায় ভর করি, শিশুশ্রমের শৃঙ্খল ছিঁড়ি –এগিয়ে চলি দৃপ্ত পায়ে, আশার আগুন বুকে জ্বালি)”, a special discussion session and inauguration event was held in observance of the World Day Against Child Labour 2025.
The event took place on 19 June 2025 at the Circuit House Auditorium, Chattogram, jointly organized by the Department of Inspection for Factories and Establishments (DIFE), Chattogram, and several development partners working on the elimination of child labour.
The program aimed to raise awareness and strengthen collective efforts towards a child labour-free future in Bangladesh. Representatives from various NGOs, government officials, and civil society members actively participated in the event.
Ms. Farida Khanam, Deputy Commissioner of Chattogram, attended as the Chief Guest and delivered a powerful speech emphasizing the need for coordinated initiatives, strong policy enforcement, and inclusive support systems to eradicate child labour.
Participants reiterated their commitment to protecting children’s rights, ensuring education, and creating a safe, enabling environment where no child is forced to work.
