In 2016, Tanvir Ahmed Palash started with a small mobile shop in Dulipara, Cumilla, alongside a land-related business. Today, he owns Dulipara Gym, employs six people, and has built four rental properties in the city.
Palash credits his progress to hard work, careful planning, and timely financial support from Ghashful. He first received a BDT 500,000 loan, followed by a larger second loan to expand his business. Both were repaid on time.
Now, he is aiming higher. Palash plans to expand his rental property business, create more employment, and develop environmentally friendly housing. To support this next phase, he has applied to Ghashful for a larger third loan.
On 29 October, Ghashful Deputy Director, Microfinance and Financial Inclusion Program, Jayanta Kumer Bosu, visited Palash’s business activities along with Zonal Manager Md. Nazim Uddin and other officials.
Palash’s journey shows how access to finance, when combined with discipline and ambition, can help a small entrepreneur turn modest beginnings into a growing source of income and employment.
