On the occasion of the 5th death anniversary of Ghashful founder Shamsunnahar Rahman Paran, a Art competition for children was held at Bangladesh Shishu Academy, Chittagong on On 14th February, 2020. About 500 children from different schools of Chittagong City took part in the competition which started at 11 am. Researcher and Sculptor D. K. Das Mamun from University of Chottogram, former principal of Chittagong Art College Professor Rita Dutta and Artist samina Nafies were present at the occasion as judge. In the joint judgment of the three judges, the first place went to Mohammadia Govt. Primary School student Shubhramoyi, the second place to Abrar Fatin Abeed of P T I School and the third place went to Hasan Mohammed Tahiyan from James English Medium School under “Ka” group. In “Kha” group first prize went to Hameem Sertaaj Anwa from Kapashgola Govt Primary School, Second prize to Samia Islam Nancy from Orbit School and third prize was won by Syeda Showriya Afreen from Udayon School. The occasion was presided over by the Deputy Director Admin and HR of Ghashful Mr. Mafizur Rahman. Chittagong District Child Affairs Officer of Chottogram Shishu Academy Nargis Sultana mentioned in her speech that the competition arranged by Ghashful was completely different and very unique. She also mentioned that the founder of Ghashful Late Paran Rahman has implemented many development works for the children of our community. Chairman of Ghashful Executive Committee Prof. Dr. Monzur- Ul –Amin Chy said that Ghashful has organized the occasion to pay a humble homage to Late Paran Rahman. He aware the parents and the guardians by saying that the children and adolescents are the biggest victims of the violence that happens in our community. Children need to be involved in such creative activities to become competent citizens so that they can change this social norm. Ghashful took this initiative to introduce a healthy culture among the children. Kabita Barua , Joint Secretary of Ghashful Executive Committee, Lecturer from Premier University Sadiqua Sultana Chowdhury, Deputy Director of Ghashful ( Micro Finance) Mrs. Abeda Begum , Assistant Director Shamsul Haque, Regional manager Saidur Rahman Khan, Audit and Monitoring manager Tutul Kumar Das, Manager (Accounts) Mustafa Jamal Uddin , Manager ( Admin) Mamunur Rashid , Manager (Communications, Admin, Fundraising and Monitoring) Nudrat A Karim, SCE project coordinator Sirajul Islam, Principal of Ghashful Paran Rahman School Humayra Kabir Chy and many other employees and support staffs of the organization were present at the event.
