Ghashful has pioneered a unique and humane “Foster Care” model for orphaned children in Bangladesh. Launched on March 12, 2024, the initiative seeks to raise orphaned children in the warmth of foster families, instead of institutional shelters, allowing them to grow with parental affection and familial care.
Under this model, 15 orphaned children are currently living in 15 different foster families. Each family receives regular financial support to ensure the child’s health, education, and nutrition. To prevent disruption in their academic progress, Ghashful operates a Learning Support Centre where the children receive not only educational assistance but also access to physical activities, games, and recreational opportunities.
This initiative is undoubtedly setting a remarkable example in the field of child welfare and social reintegration in Bangladesh.
