Ghashful RAISE Project Apprentices Assessed in Patiya

RAISE212

The first-round assessment, monitoring, and training progress review of apprentices under the Ghashful-implemented RAISE project is currently underway in Patiya, Chattogram.

Implemented with financial and technical support from PKSF and the World Bank, the Recovery and Advancement of Informal Sector Employment (RAISE) project is conducting field-level inspections of apprentices engaged in carpentry, mobile phone servicing, tailoring and dressmaking, beautification, and aluminium and fabrication trades across different areas of Patiya upazila. The assessment focuses on regular attendance, skill development progress, and overall training quality.

Under the supervision of 13 skilled master craftspersons, the evaluation found satisfactory progress in apprentices’ discipline, motivation, and practical skills. The RAISE project aims to enhance vocational skills and create sustainable employment opportunities for disadvantaged youth. Apprentices who successfully complete the six-month programme will have opportunities for wage employment or self-employment as small entrepreneurs.

The assessment activities were led by Ghashful RAISE Project Coordinator Kazi Md Shirajus Salakin, with support from Life Skills and Entrepreneurship Development Officer Al Imran, Case Management Officer Sanjay Chowdhury, and Patiya Branch Manager Masliur Rahman Parvez.
