Victory Day 2025 was observed through a series of programmes in Niamatpur, Naogaon, highlighting community based celebrations under the Ghashful ENRICH Program and paying deep tribute to the martyrs of the Great Liberation War.
On 16 December from 8:30 am, Victory Day was celebrated in Bhabicha Union of Niamatpur upazila through a vibrant programme jointly organized by the Ghashful ENRICH Program, implemented with support from PKSF, and the Ghashful Foster Children Care Center. The ENRICH led initiative drew wide participation from local communities and children.
As part of the celebration, a drawing competition was organized with nearly 400 students from 18 education support centers under the ENRICH Program, along with 15 students from the Foster Children Care Center. Floral wreaths were placed at the Shaheed Minar to honour the fallen heroes, followed by prize distribution and refreshments for the participating children.
Later in the morning, at 10:30 am, the Upazila Administration organized a colourful Victory Day programme at the Niamatpur Model High School ground in coordination with educational institutions and NGOs. The programme included tributes to the martyrs, cultural displays and sports competitions.
The event was attended by the Upazila Nirbahi Officer Ms. Morsheda Khatun as the Chief Guest and the Officer in Charge of Niamatpur Police Station Mr. Rafiqul Islam as the Special Guest, along with officials from different levels of the Upazila Administration. In their remarks, they praised Ghashful’s active engagement, particularly highlighting how the participation of children from the Ghashful ENRICH Program and Foster Children Care Center made the Victory Day observance more meaningful and heartfelt.
On behalf of Ghashful, Acting Zonal Manager Anwar Hossain, Upazila Programme Coordinator Md. Kahinur Islam, Branch Manager Md. Shahidul Islam and other officials were present at the programme.
On the occasion of Victory Day, the Federation of NGOs in Bangladesh (FNB), Chattogram District, paid solemn respect to the martyrs by placing floral wreaths at the Shaheed Minar. Leaders of FNB Chattogram District and representatives of member organizations participated in the tribute, including Ghashful, BRAC, BURO Bangladesh, ASA, Sajeda Foundation, CODEC, Jagarani Chakra Foundation, TMSS, SSS, Padakkhep Manobik Unnayan Kendra and other organizations.
