Climate Action, Adaptation, and Disaster Resilience

Climate action

What We Do under “Climate Action, Adaptation, and Disaster Resilience”:

Ghashful supports climate-vulnerable communities through initiatives that strengthen local resilience, promote sustainable resource use, and build preparedness for disasters. Our work includes water resource management, re-excavation of surface water bodies, promotion of climate-smart agriculture, drought-tolerant technologies, institutional capacity-building, environmental awareness, afforestation, and community-based disaster risk reduction and response.

Who We Serve:

These efforts primarily benefit marginalized rural populations, including Adivasi communities and residents of drought-prone and disaster-affected regions.

Key Programs and Supporters:

This thematic area is implemented through the Extended Community Climate Change Project (ECCCP – Drought) (supported by PKSF and the Green Climate Fund), the Community-based Adaptation for Resilient Empowerment of Adivasi (CARE) Project (supported by UNDP and GEF-SGP), the Social Forestry Initiative (self-funded by Ghashful), and the Disaster Preparedness and Awareness Program (self-funded by Ghashful).
